Dalmagarry Guest House Accommodation in the City of InvernessAbout the Guest House Bed and Breakfast AccommodationExplore the City of Inverness and the Highlands of ScotlandContact Dalmagarry Guest House B&B Accommodation

Our guest house accommodation is located within 5-10 minutes walking distance of the, skating rink, swimming pool, leisure complex and train or bus station. Not to be missed is new Eden Court Theatre, located on the banks of the beautiful River Ness and famous throughout the Highlands for their spectacular shows.

Our other main attraction in the Highland Capital of Inverness is of course Inverness Castle and it was built on the site of an earlier fortress in 1835 and sits on a low cliff overlooking the River Ness and the cathedral on the opposite bank. Urquhart Castle (pictured) is situated 9 miles south of Inverness CIty and located on the West shore of Loch Ness at Drumnadrochit. The ruins are of one of the largest castles in Scotland from the 16th century.

Our last spectacular castle in this area is Cawdor Castle witch is located 12 miles east of Inverness in the eastern heart of the Scottish Highlands. Set in wooded grounds, the present buildings date from the early 14th century but the old drawbridge over the defensive ditch now takes tourists into the central square tower.

Culloden Battle Field is located 3 miles east of Inverness City on Culloden Moor. This is where on 16th April 1746, Bonnie Prince Charlie (the young pretender) was defeated by the Hanoverian army culminating in the ending of the Jacobite uprising.  There is a visitor centre close to the Culloden Battlefield site.

Fort George is the artillery fortification that was built after the Jacobite uprising but was only finished in 1769, 10 miles North of Inverness at the village of Ardersier.  This 18th-century fortified defence and original garrison buildings survive intact.
